Bubblehouse is hiring an Integration Engineer for their custom loyalty platform, serving large brands. The role is less about coding and more about problem investigation, integration design, and debugging, with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI tools. Their tech stack is unconventional, focused on performance with Golang and custom database engines, rendering HTML server-side.
What they want, where you stand, and the exact résumé edits to qualify.
Biggest lever: Lack of Go/Golang experience and familiarity with their custom, low-level server architecture.

You are a highly experienced Golang integration engineer. Bubblehouse is hiring for an Integration Engineer (https://jobs.bubblehouse.com/integration-engineer/). They need a detail-obsessed, autonomous mid-to-senior engineer (~5–10 yrs) to investigate customer problems, drive integrations end to end, and own the specs. Their tech stack uses Golang, a custom database engine on local key-value stores, mmap'ed pages, and server-side rendered HTML (no React). They use AI to its fullest but require close review. The role is remote and requires 9am-noon NY availability. Your task is to draft a tailored cover letter and resume summary that speaks directly to their unique requirements. Highlight 5-10 years of experience in backend systems, complex API integrations (e.g., payment, CRM, ERP), debugging distributed systems, and designing robust, performant solutions in Golang. Emphasize a 'detail-oriented to a fault' mindset, strong problem investigation skills, comfort with client communication, and a track record of owning projects end-to-end. Explicitly mention comfort with AI coding tools and meticulous code review, and express enthusiasm for their high-performance, custom stack philosophy. Also, list specific (hypothetical, but plausible) Golang integration projects you've led, focusing on performance optimization and reliability in a similar high-throughput environment. Conclude with a strong call to action to discuss further.
Bubblehouse | Integration Engineer | FULLY REMOTE | $70–110k/yr | Full-time We're a fast-growing custom & private loyalty platform powering programs for household-name brands. Small, fully-remote team across the US and Europe. We want a detail-obsessed, autonomous mid-to-senior engineer (~5–10 yrs) to investigate customer problems, drive integrations end to end, and own the specs that make them work. You will use AI to its fullest, but will keep a very close eye on whatever that AI produces. As such, this role is less about coding, and more about figuring out what to build, how that best fits into the system, and why things are as they are, debugging edge cases, anticipating failure modes, talking to people, and plain old debugging. Tech-wise, we're running on Golang, and using custom database engine on top of local key-value stores, colocating the storage and compute on dedicated hardware servers, and reading data directly from mmap'ed pages of the database. Ever came across HN saying that one can run Twitter on a single machine these days? We're doing that in production. Zero lines of React, few third-party dependencies carefully vetted, every line of JavaScript manually written,
Dedicate 2-4 weeks to building a small RESTful API and a server-side rendered HTML web app in Go/Golang from scratch. Focus on understanding Go's concurrency model and how to interact with a simple SQL database (like SQLite) to simulate their 'custom database engine' concept, proving the ability to adapt to their tech stack.
Deep experience in Golang is critical for this role, as it's their primary backend language.
Required for understanding and contributing to their custom, high-performance architecture.
