This is a job posting for a founding engineer at Deep Core Technology, a startup building AI-driven geologic modeling software for the mining and mineral exploration industry. The role requires expertise in Typescript, Python, NextJS, Supabase, and Cesium, with a strong understanding of agentic systems and AI orchestration. It's a full-time, remote position in Canada, offering a competitive salary and equity.
A starter prompt for Claude Code, what you'll need, and how to reach them.
You are a senior full-stack Typescript and Python developer. Deep Core Technology is building a geologic modeling software using reasoning and agentic systems to help mining and mineral exploration companies. They are looking for a founding engineer. Your task is to craft a compelling application that showcases your ability to contribute to their vision, specifically highlighting experience with agentic systems, full-stack development (Next.js, Supabase, Cesium), and a willingness to learn domain knowledge. Given the job description, prepare a tailored resume and a short blurb, and draft a script for a 1-minute Loom video demonstrating how you would approach building a core component of their system using an agentic approach. The video should focus on illustrating a simple 'geologic interpretation agent' that could, for instance, identify potential ore bodies from a simplified dataset of drill core assays. Explain the technical stack (Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, Tailwind v4, AI SDK v6 with Gemini, Neon Postgres on Vercel) you'd use for a quick prototype, even if it differs slightly from their current stack, emphasizing its rapid development capabilities. Explain how you would orchestrate agents to complete discrete tasks in geologic modeling. Do not actually build anything, just describe the plan and demonstrate your thought process.

The core product concept (geologic modeling for mining) is highly localized to Canada due to its significant mining industry, and could be rebuilt as a specialized consultancy or product for Canadian firms.
Deep Core Technology | Founding Engineer | REMOTE (MUST LIVE IN CANADA) | Full Time | Salary: $105,000 - $125,000 CAD + equity Company: We’re building a geologic modelling software, based on reasoning, to help mining and mineral exploration companies work faster. Our goal is to create a way to enable open-ended, interpretive geologic problem solving to be done programmatically, changing the way to explore for hard rock and critical minerals. Currently in active fundraising. Role: You are the founding engineer on the team, joining co-founder (Neil, CEO) and myself (Jeff, CTO) as first employee. You’ll have a deep influence over systems and architecture. You will have ownership through the entire stack from the database, through geostatistical backend services, through 3D rendering on the client side. Work rooted in agentic systems, so an understanding of the internals of things like Claude Code, and a broader understanding of orchestrating agents to complete complex discrete tasks is important. You: - Fluent in Typescript, Python, and framework/tooling agnostic (Currently using things like NextJS, Supabase, Cesium) - Eager to learn about mining domain knowledge around the software.

“I'm a Canadian-based solo operator with deep experience in building full-stack AI applications, particularly with agentic systems. I'm highly interested in Deep Core Technology's mission and have prepared a tailored resume, blurb, and a 1-minute video demonstrating my approach to building an interpretive geologic agent using modern AI tools and a robust stack like Next.js/Supabase/Cesium. I'm eager to discuss how I can contribute as your founding engineer.”
